Your comments about 'play' remind me that we now have far more entertainment and sport than ever. Much of the latter is related to gambling. A relatively high proportion of the 'workforce' is now engaged, either directly as performers, or indirectly as support workers, in those 'industries'. You only have to look at the roll call of backroom workers that scrolls across the screen at the end of any TV show. Theatres, music venues, sports stadia and other establishments that exist as centres of live entertainment have huge numbers of backroom and front of house workers. The plethora of streaming channels provide an almost infinite range of opportunities for those whose work is oriented towards 'play' rather than the satisfaction of our physical needs and wants.
