You want politicians to force companies to act responsibly. We elect the politicians so your first task is to persuade the electorate to make the appropriate choice at the ballot box. But it goes deeper than that. So long as we keep buying the stuff that companies thrust at us they will carry on behaving as they always have. So there is another job of persuasion to be undertaken: to get the populace to curb their acquisitive instincts.
