Yeah — agree with the other commenter, some of your facts are a bit suspect — Britain joined the EEC in the 1970s not 1990, although the EEC transformed into the EU via the Maastricht Treaty which Britain signed up to in1992. The general tenor of the article is accurate, however. The real irony is that (extreme) left and (extreme) right politicians oppose the EU for diametrically opposite reasons.
