One interesting aspect of this article that surprised me is that it seems US food producers do not have to print the ingredients on the side of the pack as they do here in Europe. You ought to be able to pick up a pack of alomond/oat/soya/coconut milk and read the proportion of water vs the headline ingredient. How can a consumer know what (s)he is really buying if it's not on the label|? This also applies to those 'fruit drinks' which are mostly water and sugar, when I read the labels over here.
