Lauren I hope you will not mind me correcting you but an isle is a small island. The space between to rows of seating — as in a two party parliament — is an aisle. My apologies if “isle” is a standard American spelling for what we over here call an aisle, like color for colour!

Apart from that, your article makes a lot of sense — there is a very real difference between compromise and cooperation and you have expressed it well.
