I have been in favour of changing the way we measure growth for a long time. However, I have to challenge your use of the data from Oxfam. The problem is that the contribution of the very rich to carbon emissions, and pollution generaly, does not come from what they personally consume. It comes from the stuff they design and sell and which the rest of us consume. In other words, the only way to reduce "their" contribution is for the rest of us in the middle income bands to consume less of what they peddle.
