I don't know why Medium added this 5 year old stroy to my feed. Maybe because I just posted a piece on the fallacy of freedom from work. I think the missing element from the crocodile story is that the old croc had earned his right to do nothing by having lived a long life of hunting. Moreover, it was the wisdom gained doing so that enabled him to learn where the most abundant source of food was to be found. 'Doing nothing', in the crocodile's case, like Gates's 'think weeks', was actually spending time in productive thought, an activity which, in my book, is still work. What you have done here is to point out the difference between productive 'work' and 'busyness'. Thank you.
