Hi Skiddy, thanks for your response. As Scotty pointed out, the historian Bede, who I mention, is from the 8th century. I also refer to a book in Hereford Cathedral that dates from 800 AD. I was attempting to refute the idea that there was a time in the past when no-one was capable of making a record of events, or reading earlier records and composing their own versions of those vents. Most such myths, legends and stories were handed down by word of mouth. That doesn’t mean that the peple doing so were ignorant, or that there were not people able to write some of them down.
