Hi Gabriel,

I’m not sure if that is your justification for objecting to restrictions on your freedom of movement, or a snarky condemnation of Britons who hold such views. If the former I would point you to the number of deaths of patients with Covid 19 in the UK, currently approaching 60k and increasing at over 400 per day.

And then there are all the other potential causes of deaths from activities we all undertake everyday but which are subjected to all kinds of restrictions that we accept. The most obvious of which is driving: having inefficeint tyres or brakes, not wearing a seat belt, not having third party insurance, driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol, using a mobile phone, exceeding the speed limit, are all things that can get you into trouble with the law of the land and are all there to protect you and the potential victims of a road accident you might be involved in.

Protecting lives, your own and others’, by abiding by a few simple rules, should be something you do out of your natural concern for your fellow citizens.
