Have you studied house prices and rents in the UK? I moved to Ireland in 2006. I live in a small rural town a few miles from one of the fastest growing towns (23,000). There is a vibrant culture, frequent trains to Dublin an hour away with cheap fares. I don't recognise the picture you paint. There is no way I could afford to live anywhere in the UK apart from some run down city estate populated by teenaged drug dealers.
And your comments about education in Ireland are completely out of touch with reality.
One final point: I can get a GP appointment in 24 hrs. I'm told that it can take 2-3 weeks if you are lucky in the UK.
