BS. I grew up without a father (like many in my generation he failed to survive the war). My mother taught me to cook, sew and knit, among other things. I still ended up as the main porovider in adulthood. After 60 years of marriage I think I can claim to be a supporter of feminism who agrees with Mr Penguin that motherhood deserves better financial rewards and societal approval than it gets. One point he missed is that most career women pay someone else, usually a woman, to act as stand-in parent to their child(ren).
